Our History
Our story began in 1996 when our CEO, Scott T. Dill, a visionary entrepreneur, launched the company. Opening with five employees, a broad range of top-of-the-line specialized equipment, and a can-do attitude, we offered under-bridge installation services of conduit for the booming fiberoptics industry throughout the Southeast. Four years later, the company began operating as USBridgeLink.
Over time, our reputation for doing remarkable work grew exponentially, and we expanded our services beyond fiberoptic conduit to include under-bridge conduit for a broad spectrum of infrastructure needs: electrical, natural gas, water, sewer, drainage, forced water mains, and dry standpipe. Today, we’re proud to employ well over 100 talented employees (and growing) who have expertly completed work on more than 5,000+ bridges nationwide.
In 2015, we changed our name to Aptus, which is Latin for “connected”. The name is a representation of our exceptional, turnkey approach to not only physically installing and servicing the country’s bridge utility infrastructure, but also how we mentally approach the people we work with—customers and employees, alike.
We value the connections and relationships we’ve developed over time and will never forget that our business depends upon people.
Aptus was purchased by 3 Rivers Capital in 2019, an equity firm whose focus and experience is in facilitating and enabling growth for family and entrepreneur-owned companies. In 2020, we purchased King Electric of Fayetteville, NC, a bridge utility contractor serving North Carolina’s eastern and coastal regions.
